Hope Store

Categories: Boutiques, Prints, Art

Where it all begun: The Malawi Chair.

Having worked to empower communities in Malawi through initiatives such as business training for many years, we became captivated by the ingenuity and brilliance of people living in extremely difficult circumstances.

A dream began to bubble to link our friends in Malawi and their products to communities closer to home — so that wonderful people like you could also enjoy the fruits of their labours while supporting them on their journey.

In mid 2022 a delivery arrived at the Hope for a Child offices in Guernsey. A pallet, precariously loaded with a dozen hand-woven chairs from Malawi was unpacked and the Hope Store dream was born.

Today our shelves stock irresistible products from artisans operating in countries all over the world.

We are on a mission to get the finest, ethical homeware and gifts into your hands — to create a win for the makers, a win for the planet and a win for your home.

Imagine purchasing something delightful for your home that not only does good for the planet, but empowers the artisans who created it.

Hope — wishful thinking or the required agent for change?

‘Things can be different.’ A thought so simple it’s easy to miss.

A person full of hope is unstoppable. In fact according to scientific study, he also lives the longest.

Hope says “There is no such thing as stuck; everything is subject to change and that change can begin now.”

We are on this mission because we have hope. Hope opens the door to a new world.

Beliefs

Tomorrow can be better than today and we get to be a part of that.

Anything is possible.

Business can be good for everyone.

You are significant.

Who?

The Hope Store is run by Hope for a Child. We are a small and dedicated team based in Guernsey, Channel Islands on a mission to see extreme poverty eradicated in our lifetime.

Why?

Not only will your purchase directly benefit the makers, but profit is used to empower families living in poverty in rural Malawi.

Enjoy and welcome to the journey.
